The Year of We Reboot

One of my biggest goals is to connect with as many people as I possibly can. So without further adieu, I wanted to share with you my thoughts on the importance of travel and the lifestyle it provides us, giving us the opportunity to grow with one another and in our own personal lives.

At the beginning of 2019, I made a clear mission statement for myself and had a call to action for my followers #theyearofwe was born. What is the year of we, and why does it matter still now that we are in 2021?

I spent the majority of 2018 hearing the idea of 2018 being the year of “me”. 2018 was all about self-care, and I think many of us really learned a lot about ourselves and this topic throughout the past year. I saw constant posts and articles on how to care for ourselves and our mental health. I watched everyone around me start the process of becoming more mentally healthy and loving themselves the way they deserved. I went on the next year to really grow my social media, make new friends and grow in my community... then the dreaded 2020 hit. We reverted back to a self-care mentality, which believe me, we needed, but we have strayed farther and farther physically and emotionally from one another in the process. We are mastering our self-care, but I think it is the perfect time to return our focus to caring for others. It is time to give the people around us the love we gave ourselves in 2018 & 2020. So, my proposal is to make 2021 the year for “we" (again).

That is what I set out to do, and now we are over halfway through January, and here is an update. Making the year a better year, not just for myself, but everyone that is a part of it along with the new people that in 2020 entered my life, and the even newer ones to come this year, the goal is to leave people better than you found them. Through this process it has become so apparent to me that we grow so much more as a team than we would ever individually when we leverage our relationships and boost each other instead of tearing one another down.

I have gotten the opportunity to practice what I have been preaching through all of my travels and will continue to throughout the year.  I have connected with so many people and they have all come into my life and changed it or left it for the better. The other thing I learned through this experience, is although self-care is still important…

My self-care has been easier to maintain when I feel happy and fulfilled. Making others a priority in my life has led to overall better mental health for myself as well. That is not something I anticipated when I began this process. Obviously, there is still a ton of time left, in this year and lifetime to keep evolving and learning, but so far it has been one of the most positive experiences in my life!

Reach out to me via social media or email about your growth journey of 2021 because I am so genuinely curious, does it involve others? What difference do you want to make in the world? Can I help you achieve it?
